Traditional Jamu Powder
Beyond the Product: The Jamu Gold Story
Jim Hancock - Founder, Empathy Herbal
I’d travelled to Indonesia to surf epic waves. Instead, I was lying in a hammock feeling depressed, with a sore & swollen knee, again…
The next morning, a local jamu lady arrived at our surf camp & gave me a small golden Jamu drink. I was sceptical but gave it a try. That was the first time I started looking beyond modern medicine & became curious about the traditional use of plants as medicine.
That curiosity led me to spend 3 years living in Indonesia, learning about farming, Jamu, Indonesian culture and traditional practices. Her recipe became the foundation for Jamu Gold Powder — making it simple to prepare & enjoy as a drink at home.
